2012 Fantasy Football Sleepers

Sleeper: A draft term for a NFL player that an owner believes is going to have a breakout season. These are usually players who are not rookies, but they can be. For the most part they are not well known NFL players. Usually sleepers are drafted in the middle to late rounds of a draft. From our Fantasy Football Dictionary

We have classified the following players as sleepers for 2012. We will be updating this list throughout the pre-season.

Josh Freeman QB TB 25 3 QB - #12
The Buccaneers' offseason acquisitions of wide receiver Vincent Jackson (free agency), All-Pro guard Carl Nicks (free agent) and running back Doug Martin (NFL Draft) should benefit the offense and third-year quarterback Josh Freeman greatly this season. Freeman is coming off a disappointing sophomore campaign in which he threw more interceptions (22) than touchdown... Read More
Robert Griffin III QB WAS 23 R QB - #5

Unlike Cam Newton, RGIII's rookie year will not be played behind a stud line or with a reliable ground game, though receiving options could surprise. His own legs should help those fantasy numbers. Training camp progression ... Read More

Head coach Mike Munchak has proclaimed the QB job an open competition, but the Titans would be wise to look to the future. Locker completed 34-of-66 passes (51%) in 2011 for 542 yards, with fou... Matt Schaub QB HOU 31 8 QB - #15
When Matt Schaub is on the field he tends to do well for fantasy owners. The problem is Schaub tends to spend as much time watching as he does playing. The injuries he has suffered are not his fault, but that doesn't make losing him any easier for fantasy owners. Last year Schaub only made it through nine games; in week 10 Tampa Bay's Albert Haynesworth rolled up o... Read More
