| Ovr | Pick | Franchise | Selection | Pos. | Team | Age | Exp. |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1.01 | TheHuddle.com |
Arian Foster | RB | HOU | 26 | 3 |
| This isn't a no-brainer, for me at least; I think losing Winston hurts Houston's line. But the Ravens have line issues of their own, so it's tough to justify elevating Rice over Foster. Can't go wrong either way. | |||||||
| 2 | 1.02 | FFToolbox.com (Ben) |
Ray Rice | RB | BAL | 26 | 4 |
| In the argument of which RB goes first, I'm ever so slightly leaning Rice's way since he has less competition for carries compared to Arian Foster and the Texans OL could be weaker following key losses. Oh, also Rice is a dual-threat stud, so there's that. | |||||||
| 3 | 1.03 | FootballGuys.com |
LeSean McCoy | RB | PHI | 24 | 3 |
| Very close to Ray Rice as the RB1/RB2 debate in all formats, especially PPR. McCoy is a key part of the high powered Philadelphia offense and he gets more than his fair share of touches and TDs even with Vick running at QB. Despite two rookies added in Philly, he remains the top back by a wide margin. | |||||||
| 4 | 1.04 | FFToday.com |
Calvin Johnson | WR | DET | 27 | 5 |
| I am pretty tempted to go with a RB given the perceived depth at WR vs. RB this year, but Madden curse be damned, I'll take Megatron because he is so dominant at his position. | |||||||
| 5 | 1.05 | DraftCalc.com |
Tom Brady | QB | NE | 35 | 12 |
| A 50TD season on the way? | |||||||
| 6 | 1.06 | DraftSharks.com |
Darren McFadden | RB | OAK | 25 | 4 |
| I'd take Chris Johnson in a regular management league. Draftmasters mitigates the injury risk, though. McFadden's ceiling is No. 1 at the position. | |||||||
| 7 | 1.07 | 2MugsFF.com |
Matt Forte | RB | CHI | 27 | 4 |
| I really dislike drafting from this spot. Rather than watch Chris Johnson underwhelm me all year, I'll take Forte despite Michael Bush being around. He'll catch enough passes to justify this spot for me. | |||||||
| 8 | 1.08 | CBSSports.com |
Chris Johnson | RB | TEN | 27 | 4 |
| I'll let him underwhelm for me. He will bounce back. | |||||||
| 9 | 1.09 | FFToolbox.com (Matt) |
Aaron Rodgers | QB | GB | 29 | 7 |
| Rodgers at 1.09? Wow. I'll take it. Usually you can expect him to be gone by 1.05 at the latest. | |||||||
| 10 | 1.10 | KFFL.com |
DeMarco Murray | RB | DAL | 25 | 1 |
| Boy, it doesn't seem smart to take RBs anymore. I guess there are safer choices, especially at other positions, but Murray's schedule and his performance in the second half of last season give me some confidence that he'll be one of the top scorers at the position. | |||||||
| 11 | 1.11 | FansFantasyFootball.com |
Larry Fitzgerald | WR | ARI | 29 | 8 |
| UGH! Had Murray all ready to go. Brees is the safest player left but I have gotten him in the 3rd recently and I just can't bring myself to take a QB in round one. All the RB's left that are considered maybe top tier have huge question marks and WR is as deep as its been in years. I am going to go WR here and take my chances later with RB. I will go for elite guys....so Fitz it is...it does not matter who the QB is...Fitz will get his | |||||||
| 12 | 1.12 | FantasySharks.com |
Maurice Jones-Drew | RB | JAX | 28 | 6 |
| I like how MJD has been falling. Sure he would like a new contract and maybe he'll get some concessions but this smells more like a vet posturing while enjoying not having to go through training camp. I hope.. | |||||||
| 13 | 2.01 | FantasySharks.com |
Drew Brees | QB | NO | 34 | 11 |
| Sorry all, did not realize I was up. Will update analysis later. | |||||||
| 14 | 2.02 | FansFantasyFootball.com |
Julio Jones | WR | ATL | 24 | 1 |
| Again RBs with ?'S remain I have Julio Jones as my number 4 WR and in a ppr he should be a beast...pairing him with Fitz gives me a nice pair | |||||||
| 15 | 2.03 | KFFL.com |
Ryan Mathews | RB | SD | 25 | 2 |
| This won't be a popular pick, and blah blah blah about risk and fragility and women's undergarments. The only other player I considered here was Jamaal Charles. My RB2 will miss a week or two and be in the top five for average fantasy points when he's back. For how long? It's not like suddenly the number is "probably six weeks, eight if I'm lucky." Every RB is in danger. I'll take one of the most explosive players at the position who's still scheduled to receive a featured back's workload. You can have some of the other guys, later, when I'm picking from the QBs, WRs and TEs who are still plenty "safe." | |||||||
| 16 | 2.04 | FFToolbox.com (Matt) |
Jimmy Graham | TE | NO | 26 | 2 |
| So now I've taken a QB and TE in the first two rounds. Fantasy experts be damned!! | |||||||
| 17 | 2.05 | CBSSports.com |
Trent Richardson | RB | CLE | 21 | R |
| I'll gamble that he's back for Week 1. If he is ready at 100 percent then he should perform like a Top 10 RB. | |||||||
| 18 | 2.06 | 2MugsFF.com |
Adrian Peterson | RB | MIN | 28 | 5 |
| I'll gladly take him in the middle of the 2nd round. It's not often you can get a back as talented as him this late, but it doesn't come without significant risk. If he is fully recovered from the knee injury, this pick will definitely pay off. | |||||||
| 19 | 2.07 | DraftSharks.com |
Darren Sproles | RB | NO | 29 | 7 |
| In 18 games last year, including playoffs, Sproles fell short of 5 catches just 4 times -- and short of 4 only twice. The RB cliff is unpleasant this year. | |||||||
| 20 | 2.08 | DraftCalc.com |
A.J. Green | WR | CIN | 24 | 1 |
| This is my first 2012 draft going QB/WR to start off. I wanted to test drive this strategy, and while I anticipate not liking the end result, this is why we mock, and AJ Green is likely to drop top 1-3 fantasy WR numbers in 2012. | |||||||
| 21 | 2.09 | FFToday.com |
Andre Johnson | WR | HOU | 31 | 9 |
| A lot of different directions I could go here. WR-WR to start isn't at the top of people's strategies this year - more like a Plan C or D - but I like Andre Johnson quite a bit while I'm more even on the available RB. I'd rather wait at QB. I'm loath to leave that second stud TE for one of the guys who got a top 3 RB already, but c'est la vie. Short of getting Jimmy Graham, I'd rather wait at TE too. | |||||||
| 22 | 2.10 | FootballGuys.com |
Rob Gronkowski | TE | NE | 24 | 2 |
| Gronkowski was a force among many big tight end performances in 2011. He has the unique combination of size, speed and receiving skills that make him too difficult for a normal linebacker or safety to cover one on one. He scored 17 touchdowns, a number that is likely to not be replicated but even if he scored "only" 10 he still would have been the top TE last year. Take him as the top tight end in all formats. | |||||||
| 23 | 2.11 | FFToolbox.com (Ben) |
Jamaal Charles | RB | KC | 26 | 4 |
| First draft this year I've gone RB-RB (also first draft I've had a top 3 pick). Been leery of Charles near the first turn, but at this point I'll bite. The Chiefs ground game is looking rather nice this year. | |||||||
| 24 | 2.12 | TheHuddle.com |
Victor Cruz | WR | NYG | 26 | 2 |
| Cruz gets the nod over his teammate and a couple other worthy wideouts primarily because he turned down Dancing With The Stars. That and his ability to score from anywhere on the field. | |||||||
| 25 | 3.01 | TheHuddle.com |
Doug Martin | RB | TB | 24 | R |
| It's a bit of a reach for Martin here, but there's no way he makes it back to me at the 4/5 turn so if I want him I need to jump now. I have visions of Martin running wild behind Carl Nicks while LeGarrette Blount works his way into Greg Schiano's doghouse. | |||||||
| 26 | 3.02 | FFToolbox.com (Ben) |
Brandon Marshall | WR | CHI | 29 | 6 |
| Screw it, I like Marshall this year. That's it. | |||||||
| 27 | 3.03 | FootballGuys.com |
Greg Jennings | WR | MIN | 29 | 6 |
| Jennings is one of the top two targets along with Jordy Nelson in the Packers offense. The good news is that there is plenty of room for both to be stud WRs for Aaron Rodgers, as the ground game is less than average. Expect another huge year for both wideouts. The concussion issue doesn't bother me at all. | |||||||
| 28 | 3.04 | FFToday.com |
Roddy White | WR | ATL | 31 | 7 |
| I was hoping for Jamaal Charles to fall here and as a Bills fan I've got too much pent up angst against Marshawn Lynch to trust him with even the smallest of red flags next to his name on my cheatsheet. He's not a sexy pick, but a reliable (very) high target guy in White who people are writing off a little too soon as we're all wowed by the young guy Julio Jones. | |||||||
| 29 | 3.05 | DraftCalc.com |
Dez Bryant | WR | DAL | 24 | 2 |
| Because this is a mock, I'm going to attempt the QB/WR/WR strategy... Let's see how my runners end up! | |||||||
| 30 | 3.06 | DraftSharks.com |
Marshawn Lynch | RB | SEA | 27 | 5 |
| I'll go RB-RB-RB for the second time this draft season. Lynch gets the slight edge over FredJax because he doesn't have CJ Spiller around. The fact that he's my 3rd runner mitigates the suspension risk. It also gives me 3 potential top 6 backs. The other positions are plenty deep enough to make this work. | |||||||
| 31 | 3.07 | 2MugsFF.com |
Hakeem Nicks | WR | NYG | 25 | 3 |
| After going RB-RB, I like having a guy like Nicks to head my WR corps. His ADP is a full round later than it was last year. The injury concerns are there, but give me the WR with the highest ceiling on the board every time. | |||||||
| 32 | 3.08 | CBSSports.com |
Wes Welker | WR | DEN | 32 | 8 |
| Not sure how he gets passed up in this format, but I'll take it. His production should decline with the addition of Brandon Lloyd, but he'll still get close to 100 catches with quality yards and a handful of touchdowns. | |||||||
| 33 | 3.09 | FFToolbox.com (Matt) |
Steven Jackson | RB | ATL | 29 | 8 |
| This draft no longer reflects the reality of your typical draft. It'll be a cold night in hell when Cam Newton and Matthew Stafford survive until late into Round 3. Oh well. I'll take Steven Jackson since I have yet to draft a back. | |||||||
| 34 | 3.10 | KFFL.com |
Cam Newton | QB | CAR | 24 | 1 |
| Just when I thought I'd never end up with this guy. ... I might be more skeptical than most about some slide, but Newton's ridiculous skills set his floor high enough that it won't be a concern, barring an injury. Subtract five rushing TDs and 500 passing yards, and he's still a top-five fantasy QB. The incomprehensible obsession with WRs in this draft made this possible. | |||||||
| 35 | 3.11 | FansFantasyFootball.com |
Fred Jackson | RB | BUF | 32 | 6 |
| I was going Cam here but my good friends at KFFL decided to throw cold water on that one. Fred Jackson was great for 10 weeks last year and even with CJ Spiller looming this is as good as it gets a RB at the end of round 3 | |||||||
| 36 | 3.12 | FantasySharks.com |
Jordy Nelson | WR | GB | 27 | 4 |
| If I knew Stafford would be sitting here at 3.12 (for the first time in any draft I've been in) I wouldn't have taken Brees. Jordy Nelson is the little engine that could and it doesn't hurt being Aaron Rodgers' #1 target either. | |||||||
| 37 | 4.01 | FantasySharks.com |
Mike Wallace | WR | MIA | 26 | 3 |
| I'm going with the "all contract squabble" team in this draft and drafting for super value. If they all sign, I win! I wish it were that easy. Mike Wallace has talent, is fast, Ben Roethlisberger can throw a nice deep ball, advantage Wallace. | |||||||
| 38 | 4.02 | FansFantasyFootball.com |
Matthew Stafford | QB | DET | 25 | 3 |
| I dont want to take a QB, I dont want to take a QB, I dont want to take a QB. Oh hell! I am taking a QB. Stafford is too good and to much of a value pick here to pass up. If I though Vick would still be there at the end of round 5 I'd wait...but he wont be. | |||||||
| 39 | 4.03 | KFFL.com |
Marques Colston | WR | NO | 29 | 6 |
| He's not the most exciting WR1, but you can't ask for much more certainty than he gives, assuming that his knee issues don't come up again. The "values" at other positions are no really no more, because the questions don't come with answers just because it's a round or two later. | |||||||
| 40 | 4.04 | FFToolbox.com (Matt) |
Percy Harvin | WR | SEA | 24 | 3 |
| Love Harvin in PPR formats. Hopefully Minneosta's offense builds and improves from a pretty awful 2011 season. | |||||||
| 41 | 4.05 | CBSSports.com |
Ahmad Bradshaw | RB | --- | 27 | 5 |
| With the way running backs are getting hurt, I'll gamble on my third one here in Round 4. WR is so deep, as is QB and TE, that getting Bradshaw this late is worth it. | |||||||
| 42 | 4.06 | 2MugsFF.com |
Brandon Lloyd | WR | --- | 31 | 9 |
| I think Lloyd will function as a WR1 this year, so I'm like this spot to grab him. The only question remaining is how many of Brady's 50 TDs he'll catch. | |||||||
| 43 | 4.07 | DraftSharks.com |
Miles Austin | WR | DAL | 28 | 6 |
| If the hammy is still a problem 2 weeks from now, I'll worry more. I'll take the chance, though, on Romo's top receiver. | |||||||
| 44 | 4.08 | DraftCalc.com |
Frank Gore | RB | SF | 30 | 7 |
| Not a fan of having Gore as my RB1, hence why the QB/WR/WR strategy is not a strategy I like from the 1.03 draft slot in 2012. Still, Tom Brady, Frank Gore, A.J. Green and Dez Bryant would compete. | |||||||
| 45 | 4.09 | FFToday.com |
Demaryius Thomas | WR | DEN | 25 | 2 |
| Remember that old game show, Press Your Luck? Feels like I'm playing that right now with this mock draft. I know I should be taking a RB here, or a QB or a TE. I had a RB queued up and the write-up ready to go and everything. And then I thought... what if? Thomas looks really tempting. How is this going to turn out if I grab my Flex starter - another WR - and then still need to fill the other skill positions later? I'll take a hit at RB no doubt, but if I remember last year in half of these drafts a bunch of my RB didn't last the season anyway. Okay, lets find out. No whammies. | |||||||
| 46 | 4.10 | FootballGuys.com |
Reggie Bush | RB | DET | 28 | 6 |
| Reggie Bush had his best rushing season ever in the NFL last year for Miami, averaging five yards per carry and topping 1,000 yards on the ground. His touchdowns (six) and receptions (43) were a little more modest than you would want from a top running back, but the Dolphins have said that they want to use him more, especially as a receiver. With a young quarterback in Ryan Tannehill about to take over, playmakers with speed will be valuable. Daniel Thomas, the backup to Bush, also has not shown much which elevates Bush to a stable starting tailback. | |||||||
| 47 | 4.11 | FFToolbox.com (Ben) |
Steve Smith | WR | CAR | 34 | 11 |
| No tougher player in the league. You don't get points for that, but Smith will fight for every ball thrown his way. That plus his speed and being Cam Newton's main target will lead to plenty of scoring. | |||||||
| 48 | 4.12 | TheHuddle.com |
Jeremy Maclin | WR | PHI | 25 | 3 |
| WR is a deep position this year, but with 3 or 4 starting per team they'll be tapped out by the time I pick again; of the guys I have left in this tier, Maclin and my next pick have the most upside. | |||||||
| 49 | 5.01 | TheHuddle.com |
Eric Decker | WR | DEN | 26 | 2 |
| Again it feels like I'm reaching a bit, but Decker wouldn't last two more rounds. Love his upside as Manning's most polished target. | |||||||
| 50 | 5.02 | FFToolbox.com (Ben) |
Michael Turner | RB | --- | 31 | 8 |
| Like everyone says when they draft Turner, I'm not really in love with him, but he's good value here and the RB pool dries up quick. | |||||||
