1B Chad Tracy [Ranked: #19]

Knee injuries has deprived Tracy of much of two seasons. He was a dynamic batter before, but can he regain his 2006-form? It's not likely, but if he is injury-free, Tracy can still post a solid .285 average with 15 to 18 HRs.

1B Tony Clark [Ranked: #37]

Clark's days as a regular first basemen are over, but the crafty veteran can still put some good numbers when he is called upon. Plus he is a good influence on a young and talented roster.

2B Felipe Lopez [Ranked: #17]

Lopez is a great defender with speed and range to prove it. Had a lackluster offensive career with the Nationals but rebounded big time after signing with St. Louis last year. Very inconsistent offensive player. A high risk/low reward type of signing by Arizona.

SS Stephen Drew [Ranked: #4]

The sky's the limit for the 26 year old who showed what he could do in his third season in the majors. Drew was only the third shortstop in major-league history to finish with 40 doubles, 10 triples and 20 home runs. His .502 slugging % was equally impressive and a case can be made for taking him #4 among shortstops in '09.

3B Mark Reynolds [Ranked: #18]

Legitimate slugger capable of improving his average in 2009. Reynolds has 30 homer power but his strikeout rate is alarming (over 30%). The good in 2008 was 28 home runs and 97 RBI but the bad was a .239 batting average and a major-league record 204 strikeouts. His poor eye at the plate will lead to inconsistency but the power potential is legit and he starts against both left- and right-handers.

C Chris Snyder [Ranked: #24]

Will need to keep producing to hold off Miguel Montero. The D-Backs are trying to trade Montero, so more AB's for Snyder means 20+HR potential but with a low batting average.

C Miguel Montero [Ranked: #28]

Legitimate upside but stuck behind Chris Snyder. If he gets traded then his value will increase dramatically as he has .280/15 HR+ potential with every day ABs.

CF Chris Young [Ranked: #39]

This guy will give you fits. The power is there. The speed in there. The batting average will keep you awake at night. But when the light clicks, watch out.

RF Justin Upton [Ranked: #42]

Upton has all the potential in the world but may be better off if he spent a year in Triple A. Stash him away in deep keeper formats.

LF Conor Jackson [Ranked: #43]

He sure can hit but the question is can he hit for power? This year will go a long way in proving whether or not he will have a Mark Grace type career.

LF Felipe Lopez [Ranked: #64]

Originally cut by the Nationals, everyone's favorite Lopez really turned it on while playing with the Cardinals. Felipe is motivated playing for a contender

SP Dan Haren [Ranked: #5]

Haren was marvelous as his move to the N.L. fit like a glove. If he can avoid his yearly 2nd half slide he could very well be number one on our board

SP Brandon Webb [Ranked: #6]

The strikeouts were down last year but look for his stats to improve with the emergence of his very young Arizona team. Another 20 wins a possibility

SP Max Scherzer [Ranked: #40]

Scary potential is the word that describes this Arizona fireballer. Scherzer can hit 98 on the gun and his power arm plays in the N.L. West.

SP Doug Davis [Ranked: #82]

Davis fought off cancer last year in order to continue his playing career last year. Always a good late round source of K's.

SP Jon Garland [Ranked: #92]

Everywhere he goes Garland finds a way to win and should lower his ERA in his first year in the National League.

RP Chad Qualls [Ranked: #23]

Seven consecutive saves and 24 scoreless innings are the only thing positive to say about Qualls' time as a closer. This is a big year for him.
